Istanbul Airport is one of the largest and most modern airports in the world. Hosting millions of passengers every year, the airport has also taken important steps in accessibility.

Istanbul Airport Physical Accessibility

Istanbul Airport provides many facilities for physically disabled passengers. Terminal buildings have wide corridors and ramps for easy movement of disabled passengers. Elevators and escalators ensure that passengers can easily reach everywhere. There are also disabled toilets and rest areas at the airport.

In each toilet area in the terminal and car park, there are disabled toilets with Braille signage, audible empty/full warning, and the door opens outwards with a motion sensor.

For Hearing and Visually Impaired Passengers

Istanbul Airport also offers special services for hearing and visually impaired passengers. In the terminal buildings, there are induction loop devices and direction signs written in Braille alphabet. In addition, there are personnel on duty at the airport to assist hearing and visually impaired passengers.

Mentally Disabled Passengers

Istanbul Airport also offers special services for passengers with mental disabilities. There are special information points and passenger lounges in the terminal buildings. In addition, there are also personnel on duty at the airport to assist passengers with mental disabilities.
